Welcome To The English Department

We are thrilled to introduce our vibrant English curriculum! Our goal is to enhance traditional learning and transform English into a living, breathing language that your child feels confident using every day.

Our approach is built on the four pillars of English:

  • Finding a Voice: We prioritize fluency over perfection. Through daily role-plays, read alouds, and PoKok Chatter on Fridays, we aim to create a safe space where students feel brave enough to express their ideas. We want them to love communicating, not just memorizing.
  • Learning by Doing (Hands-On Activities): English shouldn’t just be written in a notebook; it should be experienced. Your child will engage in Active English sessions in which all language skills such as reading, speaking, writing and listening is used. We also aim to accomplish this through the use of tablets and use technology as an aid to further enhance students’ fluency.
  • Home-School Bridge (Parental Support): Language learning thrives when it’s a shared journey. You don’t need to be an expert to help! We would like to invite you to support your child by simply exploring the language together—whether that’s listening to an English song in the car, labeling a few items around the house, or asking them to teach you one new word they learned each day.

We believe that with our active classroom and your encouragement at home, your child will develop a lifelong love for English. Below are some of the activities student engage in to help them improve their English.
